Dalveen is located in the centre of the local government authority of Southern Downs Regional Council and is geographically located on Queensland's Granite Belt.
The village is characterized by its thriving community groups of: the Dalveen Country Women's Association, the Dalveen Rural Fire Brigade, the Dalveen Sports Club Incorporated and the Dalveen State School P&C Association. These volunteer organizations work closely together supporting each other in their quest to make the Dalveen village and district a great place to live and work.
Services within our village are: the Dalveen Post Office, the Dalveen Craft Shop, the Southern Downs Regional Council Mobile Library, the Dalveen Hall, St Barnabas' Anglican Church, sporting facilities and parks.
